Our farms also operate in more specialist areas. Ailafoun integrated farm practices controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and also operates a plant nursery, whilst Al Waha dedicates 5% of its land for research purposes, and trialling new vegetables.
Ailafoun’s CEA uses cooling technologies to produce high quality vegetables (such as different varieties of tomato, cucumber, and sweet peppers) for the local market in Khartoum, with a view to export.
Al Waha has conducted a number of successful vegetable trials including producing mung beans, snow peas, soya beans and corn which can be grown on a commercial basis.
Ailafoun’s plant nursery supplies saplings and plants to either direct to customers or to commercial outlets in the Khartoum area. The plant nursery is in the process of growing 15,000 saplings for DAL employees, as part of DAL’s tree planting initiative to raise awareness about climate change.
We are open to growing on demand for customers. If you would like to discuss this, please contact us.
